I recently bought an Irving Kaye Silver Shadow. I have since, Thanks to this site, been able to find all the parts needed to restore it. I have stripped the table down and built it back up. I have Championship Mercury Ultra clothe on it with new custom made Penguin rails and K55 bumpers. Although the original bumpers are not K55 due to the over sized cue I disabled the cue return and switched to a regulation sized cue. I removed, painted, and reassembled everything. Here’s a couple pictures. Also, The felt is Electric Blue and it seems a little brighter in the pics than it is really because of the high output cool white bulbs in my light.

September 29, 2013 at 5:40 am #341CodyParticipantI would be happy to help give you any information that I can. The only pictures that I have are of everything completed but I will email them to you if you wanna post your email. I cant seem to figure out how to post them on here. I can probably solve any issues you may be having as I just went through a lot myself.
November 8, 2013 at 5:07 pm #367CristoferParticipanthey bro i recently got a silver shadow coin op table im missing the coin op mech and the Door to the balls when they go in , i really want to get my hands on those two items , And also i want need to replace the bumpers i saw there are three diff kinds to choose from k66 k55 u23, do you know which is the original that would fit my table , ? please respond thank you so much
November 9, 2013 at 2:06 am #368CodyParticipantAs far as the cover and coin op I haven’t been able to find any replacement other than the cover listed on here in the parts section. It is not for a silver shadow but it will fit to cover the entire area. Meaning it will cover over where that side cover and coin op goes. I had the coin op and cover for mine so I didn’t look to much. For the bumpers it depends on what you intend on doing. I put k55 on mine because I don’t shoot with the over-sized cue ball that they were designed for. It has a tendency to respond differently off the rail than the rest of the balls. If you are going to use a standard cue ball then go with k55. If you are planning on using the over-sized cue ball then the closest thing to the original would be the k66. Even those aren’t exactly right though. The originals had an odd flat nose profile to try and make up for the over-sized cue ball. Hope this helps. When your redoing your bumpers make sure you check the t-nuts in your rails. Mine were loose so I had to replace the entire rail and bumper. Good luck.

November 9, 2013 at 6:53 am #370CristoferParticipantwow thanks for all the great info .yea couple of the screws that hold the bumpers are missing i need to find some , and would any rails fit ? or do i need to find some for this particular pool table ?i really want to get a coin mech though just for show at least , i was looking at some valley ones but how would i know if it fits ? thanks again
November 13, 2013 at 3:24 am #371CodyParticipantI called Penguin Amusement, gave them all the measurements and they made me a set of custom rails and bumpers to fit my table perfectly. The reason you have to custom order the rails is because there was no set bolt pattern for the IK pool tables. The spacing is different table to table and rail to rail. Make sure you get a new set of T-nuts while you at it. They threw them in for free when I asked. They are very knowledgeable and are more than capable of helping you.
Again, I’m not sure on the coin mech. I think you would just have to do a lot of hunting with a little luck and hope to find one. Either that or once you get a cover just find one to fit the space. I would think that if you had a cover and knew the measurements of available space then it would greatly improve your odds of finding one. It may not be functional but it would look appropriate. Good luck.
@Sunnytimes – Ill try again to post some pictures for you.November 13, 2013 at 3:56 am #372CodyParticipantmaybe this will work better for you.
November 13, 2013 at 3:58 am #373CodyParticipantDecember 9, 2020 at 10:57 pm #2044Grant HibbardParticipanti have a EC Irving Kaye Silver S
hadow coin operated 6′ with new felt etc. one piece slate top that is very heavy. i’m thinking about selling it as we are re-designing the room it;s in. What is the value of this table? I know the guys who moved it here had to get help and mentioned that they don’t make ’em like that these days? i don’t know if that’s true but it’s a great piece, i’d like to keep but we don’t have anywhere to store it. any help would be appreciated.
December 10, 2020 at 1:30 am #2045ValeroParticipantHello, Grant
That depends on the geographical corner, on the size and extras of the table and finally on the condition. Here some examples. The fact is, the Irving Kaye tables are unfortunately becoming increasingly rare. And it is known that rare items increase in value over time. It is almost always worthwhile to store something like this if the condition is good.
