    Thanks Valero, I like the rubber strips technique. My table plays well, just need to get some of the sawtooth nuts for some of the rails, they’re missing or broken in few spots and leave dead spots on the bank. The 8’ slate is in good condition and the table came with a new felt to install. The technique of raising the slate with 2×4’s underneath is a great idea. Years ago I worked for a short period with a vending company in Upstate NY and we covered slates for smaller coin op tables by putting the slate on saw horses, but with the size and weigh of the 8 footer, I like the minimal movement of your method.
